Prof. dr. sc. Vojko Rožmanić, dr.med. specijalist pedijatar, subspecijalist pedijatrijske alergologije i imunologije

Prof. Ph.D. Vojko Rožmanić, doctor of medicine, specialist in pediatrics, subspecialist in the field of children’s allergology and immunology, primarius Prof. Ph.D. Vojko Rožmanić, born in 1950 in Kostrena. He graduated from Sušačka Gymnasium in 1969, and graduated from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka in 1975. From 1977-1983 worked as a general practitioner at the Children’s Hospital for Allergic Diseases in Veli Lošinj. Passed the specialist exam in pediatrics at the Clinic for Children’s Diseases KBC “Rijeka” In 1983, where in the same year he was accepted as a department doctor of the Intensive Care Unit. He was appointed head of the infant department in 1993. From 1996, he worked at the Department of Cardiopulmonology and in 1999 was elected head of the Department. In 1999, the Croatian Ministry of Health granted the pulmonology department the title of reference center. From 2004 to 2008, he was the deputy head of the Clinic for Children’s Diseases of KBC Rijeka. From 2010 to 2015, he was the head of the Institute for Heart and Lung Diseases, Immunology, Hematology and Oncology. Retired in 2015, from 2015-2023. he works part-time at the Rijeka Health Center – children’s dispensaries Novi Vinodolski and Delnice and once a week at the allergology clinic Thalassotherapy Crikvenica.

He completed his postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Zagreb in 1985 and obtained the title of Master of Science. By defending his doctoral thesis in 1996, he earned the title of Doctor of Science at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka. He continuously publishes professional and scientific works in the fields of pediatric pulmonology, allegology, cardiology, rheumatology, toxicology and infectology. He actively participated in numerous scientific and professional gatherings in the country and abroad, and held a series of invited lectures. He published a total of more than 280 professional – scientific publications, many of which were published in journals indexed in Current Contents, SCI, Medline. The mentioned scientific works of Prof. Dr. sc. Rožmanić was quoted more than 780 times.

At the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Rijeka, he was elected to teaching positions: in 1992 he became a research assistant, in 1998 he became an assistant professor, in 2002 he became an associate professor, in 2006 he became a full professor and scientific advisor, and in 2011 he became a full professor in a permanent position. By the decision of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Croatia in 1995, he was awarded the title of primarius, and in 1998, the title of subspecialist in the field of pediatric allergology and immunology. He reviewed four books and more than thirty papers in domestic and foreign scientific and professional journals. He was the head of the program and two scientific projects of the Ministry of Science of the Republic of Croatia and one UNIRI project. He held the position of secretary of the Croatian Pediatric Society, vice-president of the Croatian Society for Pediatric Pulmonology and vice-president of the Croatian Society for Cystic Fibrosis. From 1989 to 1993, he was the deputy editor-in-chief of the magazine “Medicina Rijeka”, from 2010 to 2015, he was the assistant editor for Croatia of the scientific-professional magazine “Pedijatrija danas”. For his previous work in the Croatian Medical Association, the HLZ assembly awarded him a plaque and the HLZ charter, and in 2023, the highest award – a honorable member.

Prof. Ph.D. Vojko Rožmanić was a councilor in the Municipal Council of the Municipality of Kostrena on five occasions. He also served as a member of the Directorate for Health and Social Welfare from 2013 to 2017. he was also the deputy mayor of the Municipality of Kostrena.
